First session:

It is important for me to take time to talk, get to know you and your story. We will go over a detailed intake assessment form that will help us understand your needs and goals.

Physical assessment of the pelvic area:

Following the conclusions of the intake form and based on what feels best for you, the internal vaginal assessment can be conducted  in the first or any subsequent session or it may not be done at all.

An internal (vaginal/rectal) checkup will provide insight into muscle tension, organ health, sensitivity and pain.

Pelvic floor physiotherapists are trained to conduct these checks with the utmost care and professionalism.

This assessment is much gentler and more mindful than the one at the OBGYN.

If you feel that this type of treatment could be triggering for you, I usually recommend to be in touch with a certified therapist after our session as a ankor and integration for you.
